About this Spectacled Ghost with Celestial Teacup Pumpkins and Autumn Leaves embroidery pattern

Spectacled Ghost with Celestial Teacup Pumpkins and Autumn Leaves brings celestial and ghosts details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Large cream celestial teacup, white spectacled ghost in a purple cape holding a pumpkin, two side pumpkins, olive and purple leaves, gold stars, lunar symbols and black curls.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

This watermarked preview shows the transfer drawing. Clean outlines are included in the purchased pattern PDF.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Color and stitch guidance

The supplied guide proposes 14 DMC colors. Compare important shades with real floss under your working light.

The supplied guide labels this design advanced. Allow time for controlled spacing and detailed areas.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and structural framework Mark cup ellipse, handle, glasses, pumpkin lobes, leaf veins, stars and lunar symbols; keep 1-strand black/gold guides light and symmetric.
  2. Main focal element Fill the white ghost in 3865/822; build purple glasses and cape with 3740/3041/154; keep eye spacing, bridge and facial outline crisp.
  3. Secondary large element Work the cream teacup and handle in 3865/822; add 680/3820 rim and moon motifs; shade all three pumpkins with 920/921/922 and 938 seams.
  4. Foliage / supporting motifs Fishbone olive/sage and purple leaves from center veins outward; stem-stitch crown stems and black side curls without pulling the fabric.
  5. Small decorative details Add gold stars, cup starbursts, lunar rays, small dots, leaf veins and pumpkin stem highlights; use mostly 1 strand so ornaments stay secondary.
  6. Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Refine cup ellipse, glasses circles and pumpkin seams; add controlled knots, trim dark carries, then block gently to preserve round hoop symmetry
