About this Autumn Pumpkin Carriage embroidery pattern
Autumn Pumpkin Carriage brings celestial and ghosts details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Central Cinderella-style pumpkin carriage with hanging lantern and two vine wheels; mirrored autumn branches in copper and olive; two small ghosts; candles; crescent moons, stars, dots and ornamental vine curls. No bottle motif is actually visible.
The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size
The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.
The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 CM HOOP for this design.
A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence
- 1. TRANSFER + SYMMETRY Mark the hoop center, pumpkin carriage, ghost pair and two side candles first. Transfer the wreath branches as mirrored arcs, but preserve the slight hand-drawn irregularity visible in the artwork. 2. GHOSTS + BLACK CELESTIAL DETAILS Backstitch each ghost in one strand 310 and leave the interior completely unfilled. Add tiny satin or short straight stitches only for eyes/mouth. Work stars and black dots last enough to keep spacing clean. 3. PUMPKIN CARRIAGE Stem- or split-stitch the pumpkin contour in 920/921, then add the internal scrolls with one strand so they remain delicate. Work the stem and tendrils in 3011/3021. Keep the pumpkin interior mostly ivory fabric. 4. LANTERN + WHEELS Backstitch the lantern frame in 310/3371; use 729/3822 for the small warm glow. Build wheel rims in 420 with whipped backstitch if a smoother raised ring is desired, then add 422/3011 straight spokes and vine tendrils. 5. AUTUMN FOLIAGE Fishbone copper leaves with 920/921/922 and olive leaves with 3021/3011/3012. Keep the center vein crisp and point stitches toward the leaf tip. Use darker shades at the branch bases and undersides. 6. CANDLES + GOLD ACCENTS Split-stitch candle bodies in 3864/422, then satin the flame in 680/729 with a 3822 tip. Add moons, stars and sparse French-knot dots in 680/729/3822; avoid crowding the open center. FINISHING & PRESSING NOTES Press from the reverse over a folded towel. Re-block until both wheel circles are round, the pumpkin sits level and the two side branches read balanced. Never press directly over whipped rims, knots or the lantern glow
