About this Spider Web Pumpkin with Moths Crescent Moons and Botanical Branches embroidery pattern

Spider Web Pumpkin with Moths Crescent Moons and Botanical Branches brings celestial and botanical details into a hand-embroidery composition. Study the colored design and outline together before choosing which shapes to shade, outline or simplify. The supplied guide identifies these motifs: Large cream/gold pumpkin containing a spider web; three moths; two crescent moons and one pale circular moon/disc; dark navy botanical branches, pale gold/gray foliage, hanging stars and point-to-point celestial linework.

The colored image is a design reference. Thread, fabric and your stitch choices will affect the finished result. Preserve the open spaces around the smaller motifs and test difficult fills on a spare piece of fabric before stitching the main design.

Choose your hoop size

The outline pages are labeled for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 inch hoops. Measure the printed design before transfer, because printer margins and fit-to-page settings can affect its dimensions.

The stitch guide recommends 8" / 20 cm HOOP for this design.

A larger version gives fine contours and clustered motifs more room. Select the size that preserves the details you want to stitch.

Stitching sequence

  1. Transfer and structural framework Transfer the pumpkin silhouette and ribs, inner spider web, twisted stem, threemoths, two crescents, pale moon/disc, main botanical arcs, hanging stars andpoint-to-point celestial linework. Mark symmetry through the vertical centerbefore stitching.
  2. Main focal element Build the pumpkin first in 822/739/422 with 1-2 strands, following each rib fromstem toward the base. Keep the central values lighter, deepen the outer ribsand leave the inner web area visually open and distinct.
  3. Secondary large element Stitch the three moths in 939/823/3768/414/317/762 with strokes flowingoutward from each body into the wings. Add 729/676 markings sparingly, keeping the upper moth slightly stronger than the two lower moths.
  4. Foliage / supporting motifs Work dark branch arcs in 939, then fishbone the navy leaves in 939/823 andpale botanical details in 676/739/3768. Follow each branch curve and keepnegative space even around the pumpkin and moths.
  5. Small decorative details Add the two crescents and pale circular moon/disc in 317/762/3865 with 414shadow touches. Stitch hanging stars, starbursts, dots and celestial linework in729/3820/676/414, with 1 strand for the finest connections.
  6. Final accents, dimensional details, cleanup, and blocking Finish the pumpkin web in 414/310, refine moth antennae and wing dots, addisolated bright 3865/3820 accents, check branch symmetry, trim carriedthreads, remove transfer marks and block from the reverse without flatteningknots or long fills
